Friday, December 9 at 6:00 p.m. in the Fine Arts Center auditorium.

Winter Recital Week Schedule
Thursday, December 8
1:30-3 p.m. ALL JK/K Rehearsal
3:15–5:30 p.m. ALL 1st-6th grade Rehearsal
· All students must attend their grade level’s rehearsal(s).
· The dancers need to bring their regular dance clothes to rehearsal along with their appropriate dance shoes. They do not need to bring any costumes to any rehearsals.

Friday, December 9
Dancer Call Time 5:00 p.m.
Show Time 6:00 p.m.
· Please make sure your dancer is here by 5:15 to check in. He or she must be dressed in his or her first costume, which is listed on your laminated costume sheet. Please also have all hair and make-up finished upon arrival.

Winter Recital T-shirt
· Every dancer will receive his or her Winter Recital t-shirt at the last rehearsal. This t-shirt is yours to keep.
· Everyone is also allowed to wear their recital t-shirt to school along with their regular JCDS pants or skirts on December 9 to help celebrate the recital! This is not a break the dress code day. Only dancers performing in the recital have the option of wearing their recital t-shirt to school.

Dance Team Field Trip
Friday, May 13 is the Dance Team's last performance. They are visiting Episcopal High School's Dance Department to showcase their competition piece, and then take class with the EHS students in order to get a feel for their program. Here is our schedule:

8:00 - Check in with teachers
8:30 - Leave JCDS
9:00 - Arrive at EHS

9:15 - 1st Period Class
10:10 - 2nd Period Class
11:00 - 3rd Period Class

12:00 - Leave EHS
12:30 - Return to JCDS for lunch and the rest of the day

The girls need to wear their regular JCDS uniform to school on Friday, and then change into the following dance outfit:

- Black leotard / tank top
- Black jazz capris
- White tennis shoes and socks
- Black Dance Team Jacket

Bring in Dance Team Backpack:

- Tan Jazz Shoes
- Ballet Slippers - if they have any
- Dry Snack (no fruit or pre-made food that could spill)
- Water bottle
- Poms (will distribute at school)

JCDS Dance Team Auditions
Auditions are open to all rising 2nd-6th graders who have committed to attending JCDS next school year. Your child does not need to be enrolled in the JCDS Dance Program this year to participate in auditions.

The Dance Team information packet is available in the lobby during the Spring Recital.

You must come into the FAC lobby and sign out your dancer's costumes personally. Please also make sure to review the laminated costume sheet you receive with your costumes. All required shoes and tights listed must be purchased before the recital and picture days.

You must pick up your costumes during this week if you plan on participating in Picture Day this year. Picture Day is the Saturday following Costume Pick-Up Week.

Every spring, we offer our dancers the opportunity to have pictures professionally taken in all of their dance and cheerleading costumes. These pictures are a great way to remember the Spring Recital, and they also make excellent gifts for friends and family members.

Instead of sign-ups, we have scheduled group times for each class to come in. These times were emailed to you and are also posted on the website. I hope everyone can make it!

Make-Up Dance Classes Reminder:
Saturday, February 12
8:00am - 9:00am: Beginning Jazz and Intermediate Hip Hop
9:00am - 10:00am: Advanced Ballet
10:00am - 11:00am: Advanced Hip Hop

*Every spring, make-up dance classes are scheduled for the Monday dance classes so all students receive the same amount of dance instruction. We do not miss classes on any other day of the week due to holidays like we do on Mondays.

*These make-up classes are there for your benefit, and are not to mess up your schedule. If your dancer cannot attend a make-up class because you already have something planned - it's completely ok. I just want to be sure I give you the option, so no one has fewer dance classes than anyone else.

CONGRATS TO THE JCDS DANCE TEAM!
This past weekend was the JCDS Dance Team's first competition in Melbourne, FL. The Brevard County Dance Competition hosted elementary and middle school teams, studio-based teams, all-stars gyms, and high school teams who all competed in Jazz, Lyrical, Pom, and Hip Hop. Our kids did an amazing job for their first competition, and I couldn't be more proud!

This is huge! Our kids had an amazing first showing! Out of 15 dance programs and 77 routines at the competition, we had the highest score of the entire day - again - beating middle schools, high schools, dance studios and all-star gyms.

Winter Recital T-Shirt

The following 5 dance classes have been chosen to perform at Carriage Club December 17 at 10:45 a.m. We will be taking a DANCE FIELD TRIP to perform your recital dances!
