Honesty is the BEST Policy!

Students reading quotes at assembly.Third grade students recite their original quotes on "honesty" at the Character Ed assembly.

The virtue for the month of November is honesty, and the third grade did some serious thinking on the subject.

The students were asked to write original "quotes" on why honesty is important. A selection of quotes were read to the entire school at the assembly on November 20. A large banner with the quotes is now on display in front of the Admissions office.

Here is a sample of what some of the students wrote:

Sometimes HONESTY hurts in the begining
but it's better in the end.

-Molly

If you lie, the lie will hunt you down.
-Jack

HONESTY is always your friend.
-Jessica

If HONESTY is with you, it will guide you through your race.
If not, you will never win.
-Kamren

If you climb a mountain with lies, you will fall.
-Gus

Let HONESTY be your guide.
-Libby

HONESTY is the biggest key that opens the door to friendship.
-Edward

Lies make you go to life's jail.
-Patricio

If there were no courage, there would be no HONESTY, and if there is no HONESTY, the world would live in hate.
-Jamie

If you lie, your problem is always there until you fix it.
-Stephanie

HONESTY is part of lots of things like manners, kindness,
and best of all responsibilty.

-Sophia

Character education is part of the daily routine at JCDS. It is something that the students and faculty enjoy, and helps each of us to become a better person. Honest! end mark
