Freddy's Fitness Fair 2010
by Ben S.
On November 18, 2010, JCDS participated in the Fitness Fair, a huge, active, fun way for kids to get exercise. Grades of the school participated at different times. Grades PJK-SK were in the morning, 1-3 were in the late morning, and 4-6 were in the afternoon.
During the Fitness Fair, kids competed in activities. "Pumpkin Patch and Tug of War were the most popular events" states Jillian K. Some 1st and 2nd graders were dragged to the ground, and smothered in dirt as the girls pulled the boys across the field.
Students asked for pledges to complete the 50 Steps to Fitness grid. Pledges are a promise to donate money to the school. Most of the money went to the Teachers Wish List. The Teachers Wish List is a beneficial way for teachers to support their classrooms. Books and games are two examples of way to support their classroom.
After the Fitness Fair ended, students received cookies and medals. The Fitness Fair has been a great success and a fabulous fundraiser!
